Nasi Uduk

Nasi uduk is basically rice steamed with coconut milk but the best one will include nutmeg in it and you can really taste it. There are several places in Jakarta for best nasi uduk which I can't choose because all three are good. One that's very famous is Nasi Uduk Kebon Kacang, the other two are at KH Samanhudi, Nasi Uduk Ibu Itjih and Nasi Uduk Kota Intan. What's different at Nasi Uduk Ibu Itjih is their peanut sauce! It's spicier with tauco flavour in it. It has a distinguish flavour which I loveee.

Sayur Asam

If you want to find the best Sayur Asam, you should go to the food court at Bank Mayapada, Jl. Jend Sudirman. There is a counter called Dapur Timbel and they have lots of yummy Sundanese food, like grilled or fried chicken, fish, shrimp, salty fish, tempe, etc. They have really yummy and spicy sambal terasi, which I loveeeeeeeeee....and the best sayur asam I have ever tasted! I even said to my friends that the sayur asam is better than my grandma's and that's huge because my grandma made a really good sayur asam!

Iga Penyet Warung Leko

Forgive me..I miss my Indonesian food, so..I can't help it but to browse around to see food photos. How pathetic, I know..but here is one more of my favourite. Iga penyet (Iga= ribs) at Warung leko. Gosh I miss the SUPER SPICY CHILLI!!! I always order the spiciest chilli and I just love how the chilli burns my tongue and tummy..and the ribs is tender and juicy!! Oh!!! drooling!!!

Gado-Gado

I'm missing my Indonesian food so bad!!!! Been away from home for almost three months now and the list of food is getting longer and longer. I can't wait for the month of August when I can finally go back to Jakarta and fulfil my craving. It's hard for me to pick my favourite Indonesian food, just because there are too many..but one for sure is gado-gado, and my favorite place for gado-gado is Kedai Ria just next to Sudirman Park Apartment at KH Mas Mansyur. There is a street besides the apartment that leads to Wisma BNI 46 and on the left side there is a small aisle that leads to a small "warung". To me the gado-gado is YUM!! I can't wait to go back and have my gado-gado!!
