Gurame Bakar Sari Kuring

I love Sundanese food, and for that I always go to Sari Kuring to have my Gurame Bakar (Grilled Gurame). Love the marinated sauce so much...

Have this with hot steamed rice, sambal terasi and kangkoong, it's the perfect combination!

Ice Cendol and Goreng-Goreng

Ok..when you are in Malacca, Malaysia, you have to go to Museum Cafe (Jonker Dessert 88) at Jonker Street and try their ice cendol and goreng-goreng. We have similar ice cendol and goreng-goreng here in Indonesia, but I have to admit..in Malacca is better! I have to fairly admit this. For you that never try ice cendol, you might be surprised with the look of it. It looks like a green worms, made from flour and pandan leaves that gives the green color, serves with red beans, shoved ice, coconut milk and palm sugar. Now..what makes it better than the ones I had in Indonesia is the palm sugar. Gula Malacca is so famous for their distinguish taste and smell.

Goreng-goreng is basically fried stuffs, like tofu and fish cake..and what makes it so special is their sauce which you used to dip in the fried stuffs. The sauce is (again) from palm sugar, peanut, chili and asam (acid), so it's a mixed of sweet, spicy and sour. Trust me, it's yummy

Fried Oyster Omelette

Another must try when you are in Malacca is fried oyster omelette at Jalan Bunga Raya. This stall has been there for more than 70 years and it's been for 3 generations of the Lim's family. It's the best fried oyster omelette I have ever had. This stall open from 7pm so plan this for your dinner!

Asam Laksa

Penang is famous with its asam laksa..and it's no kidding. I mean take a look at this...by looking at the photo, can you tell how spicy, sour and thick this is?

If you are a fan of spicy and sour food, then this is a must try. It's very..refreshing! This thick soup is a mixed of spicy, sour and yet refreshing..lots of lime indeed!

Seafood at Jimbaran Beach

Jimbaran Beach in Bali is famous with its seafood stalls along the beach. It's the perfect place to enjoy the sunset and fresh seafood. With so many to choose my heart goes to Manega cafe, one of the cafe that was destroyed by bomb. Wonder why this was the chosen one by the terrorist? Coz the food is good, I guess..anyway the business is back to normal and it's the place that I will always visit when I am in Bali. My choice? For certain their grilled green mussel. One portion is just not enough. Have it with rice, kangkoong and steamed rice while enjoying your sunset and listening to the live band..life is great!

Bubba Gump

Yup..it's inspired by the movie, Forrest Gump! I love this restaurant. Been to the one in Bali and Hong Kong. My favorite? A bucket of popcorn shrimp to start, and Dixie baby back pork ribs as the main course, jezz..you'll lick every bone of it.. For drinks, I like Jennie's favorite! Strawberry, Cranberry, and Raspberry frozen yogurt. Tell me, what can go wrong with that? Nothing! Absolutely nothing!

Homemade tiramisu by the Tuscan Mammas

The best tiramisu I have ever had by far! It's homemade by the Tuscan Mammas. Do you know that tiramisu means pick me up? Metaphorically make me happy. Indeed this cake will make you happy! The secret of this cake is great espresso and cocoa, it just ..melted in my mouth. One of the great food experience I had!
